Three of the four of us (Dan, our Tenor, will be performing a Cantata at TBC in Chillicothe) will be performing with the Circleville Barbershop Chorus this Saturday at 7:30 at Crossroads CCCU, Tarlton Road, Circleville. There should be a good crowd. We're going to do some sacred songs, some patriotic songs, and then some Christmas songs. It should be a great evening of singing.

Performance at Adena Mansion and Gardens
Our performance at Adena Mansion and Gardens went well. There weren't a lot of people there, but those who attended seemed to be enjoying themselves. From our standpoint, the area in the back of the Visitor Center has wonderful acoustics. We could really ring some chords.

Traditions InCare One Year Anniversary

We recently performed at Traditions in Chillicothe. We helped them celebrate one year of operation for their Adult InCare facility. Everyone enjoyed our singing, with several of the staff commenting on how much they enjoyed the performance.
Somehow we've got to get Dan to be a bit more demonstrative. He just loves to sing with his hands behind his back!

Lucy Webb Hayes House Performance
We've been asked to perform at the Lucy Webb Hayes House on Dec 30, 2010. This will be an evening of Barber Pole Cats (songs all Barbershoppers know) along with other songs sung in the Barbershop style. Songs like Kentucky Babe, Shenandoah, When There's Love at Home, etc. We are looking forward to the performance.Weekend Performance at Adena Mansion and Gardens
It wasn't quite this snowy, and we performed in the Visitor Center, not the mansion, but you get the idea! Our quartet performed two half hour sets over the weekend. One set on Saturday and one on Sunday. I'd have to say the entire Holiday event was very sparsley attended. However whenever our quartet gets to sing together, we always have an enjoyable time. Performance at Tabernacle Baptist Church
We sang today, Wednesday, June 30, for the folks who enjoyed lunch in the basement of the Tabernacle Baptist Church. It was a nice crowd of about 40-50 people. Most were seniors, but there were a few "youngsters" in attendance. We sang several pole cats and then took a break. I told a joke and Paul thought it was a great segue into Bill Grogan's Goat, so he added that number to the performance. It was a good idea! We started the second half of our performance with that great love song .... Oh, How I Miss Her. Most of the folks got it, but a few had puzzled looks on their faces when the final note died away. We finished our second half with Irish Blessing, we thought. But we were asked for an encore. So our final, final song was Under The Boardwalk.

Paint & Main Practice Let Me Call You Sweetheart
This was done with a $35 camera. We've got to get something better!! Note: Keep the volume low and it removes some of the static/scratchy. If the screen is blank, just click the start arrow.
Quartet Practice
We had a great practice session Thursday night, May 20. We ran thru lots of songs. It's amazing how easy it is to forget a few words (and notes), even of songs we've sung quite a few times. Practice, practice, practice.

Warning, This is not Paint & Main
We are working on this. It's a really nice piece. I think we have to modify the standard ending we are singing right now to something a bit more special. Perhaps something like this!

Hello Mary Lou by USNA Cleaneshave
Paint and Main's Lead is an ex Department of the Navy career employee. Thought he might enjoy this. Plus, we're working on Hello Mary Lou. It's almost ready, if the bass can just remember a few parts.
I'm not sure how military it is, but the lead in this seems to have a pretty good "barbershop squat" at 1:11 and 1:12. lol

Singing at Schlegel's, Nov 21, 2009
We had a great time singing for the folks at Schlegel's tonight. And I think the audience enjoyed our performance. Also, some Paint Valley High School students stopped in to hear a little Barbershop singing. Here are some pictures of the evening.

Performance at CHS Class of 1964 Reunion
Paint & Main sang on Saturday, September 19, at the reunion of Chillicothe High School's class of 1964. Quartet members Paul and Dan are 1964 graduates of CHS. Several attendees commented favorably on our performance. We also noticed that many of the folks listening to us were singing, softly, along with us. Finally, we premiered our two newest songs, Under the Boardwalk and When I'm 64, at the reunion. We got a pretty good reaction to When I'm 64!
